Photo of the Week: Maria Sharapova

We wanted to give you something sharp of Maria Sharapova winning her first-round match at the U.S. Open, but her exclusive Web site keeps photos under lock and key. We managed this one though and also provided a throwback below.
These'll do, right?
We always like seeing Sharapova's cross around her neck - shoot, we always like seeing Sharapova, period - and Tuesday was no different. Instead of all white, she sported a black-and-white number in honor of the New York City skyline.
You never know when people are going to like it or not, that's the beauty of fashion. It was inspired by the architecture of New York and glitz. And my Tiffany earrings; my whole outfit was inspired by Frank Gehry.
Beauty in the chance of failure? Interesting...
Anyway, the world's most financially-fit female athlete is designing these days and has plans for a Nike dress. We'd just like to see her win after undergoing shoulder surgery and missing a whole lotta time on the court. According to SNY.tv, her next match will be a true David vs. Goliath affair.
